Konecranes has completed the acquisition process of Rotterdam-based Peinemann Port Services BV and Peinemann Container Handling BV following clearance from the Dutch Competition Commission.

Peinemann is a major port services supplier in the Netherlands, with a large client base and long-term maintenance agreements with several of Konecranes’ important customers.

Peinemann Container Handling BV has been a Konecranes Lift Trucks dealer in the Netherlands since 2009, and it has been selling, renting, and servicing lift trucks in the Rotterdam region since 1954.

The proposed acquisition will have no effect on Konecranes’ existing Lift Trucks distribution business outside of the Netherlands.

In October, APM Terminals (APMT) Maasvlakte II announced a partnership with Konecranes for an Automated Horizontal Transport System, marking a key phase in its expansion to double terminal capacity by 2027.

One month later, Transped S.p.A. bought a Konecranes Gottwald Generation 6 mobile harbour crane to increase its handling capacity and efficiency at Italy’s Venezia-Marghera port.
