Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) is set to launch a new Far East–Chennai Service (FCS4) on 22 November 2026, strengthening direct container shipping connectivity between Malaysia and India’s east coast.

The new service will connect Port Klang in Malaysia with Visakhapatnam (Vizag) and Chennai, providing additional shipping options for cargo moving between the two markets.

According to OOCL, FCS4 is designed to enhance regional connectivity, offer greater routing flexibility and support growing trade flows between Malaysia and eastern India.

    FCS4 Service – Port Rotation

The service will operate on the following port rotation: Port Klang (Malaysia) – Visakhapatnam (India) – Chennai (India) – Port Klang (Malaysia).

The introduction of FCS4 will expand OOCL’s presence in the Intra-Asia shipping market while providing shippers with another direct container shipping option linking Malaysia with two important ports on India’s east coast.

The new connection is expected to benefit exporters, importers and logistics operators by offering additional routing alternatives and improved access to regional shipping networks.

OOCL has not yet disclosed details regarding the number and capacity of vessels to be deployed on the service. Information on sailing frequency, transit times and the vessel scheduled for the inaugural voyage is also awaited.

The launch of FCS4 on 22 November is expected to further strengthen maritime trade connectivity between Malaysia and India’s eastern maritime gateways.
