Riga Universal Terminal (RUT), a multipurpose terminal at the Port of Riga, has successfully implemented GullsEye Logistics Technologies’ Gen2 Terminal Operating System (TOS).

This transition aims to modernise operations and improve efficiency in handling containers, bulk, general cargo, and rail transport.

A subsidiary of Portek International Pte Ltd, RUT manages approximately 100,000 TEUs annually, along with around 2 million tonnes of bulk and frozen cargo.

Previously reliant on a basic legacy TOS with limited functionality, the terminal sought a more comprehensive system to manage both containerised and non-containerised cargo.

Following an agreement in July 2023, the transition to the Gen2 TOS was completed by December 2023 with minimal operational disruption.

Since implementation, RUT has reportedly worked closely with GullsEye to refine workflows , leading to improved productivity and cost efficiency.

GullsEye’s system features an advanced optimisation engine and seamless integration capabilities, allowing for precise tracking, monitoring, and planning of cargo movements.

The TOS also reduces reliance on manual processes, enhancing operational accuracy. Additionally, GullsEye’s team integrated the system with port and customs authorities, agencies, and shipping lines within the project’s timeline and budget.

A management representative from Riga Universal Terminal commented: “We are thrilled to partner with GullsEye. Their modern technology has significantly enhanced our efficiency, streamlined our processes, and improved our ability to deliver outstanding service to our customers.”
