    According to media, during the first year of the current federal government, imports from India have increased on an annual basis for the fourth time. Despite the suspension of trade, imports from India have once again risen. In February last month, imports from India saw a 28% annual increase, reaching $26.8 million.

    Government sources told media that in February 2025, the volume of imports from India stood at $26.8 million, compared to $20.8 million recorded during the same period last year.

    This means that last month, imports from India increased by 28% on an annual basis. According to sources, during the current fiscal year, imports from India also increased on an annual basis in August and September.

    Similarly, imports from India saw an annual increase in January and March 2024, as well as in February and May 2023. Pakistan had suspended trade with India in August 2019. However, later, Pakistan relaxed trade restrictions, allowing the import of life-saving medicines from India.
