India’s Odisha state government recently approved 17 industrial projects worth ₹38.78 billion (~$0.45 billion) that are expected to create 10,584 jobs across 11 districts. The projects cover multiple sectors, including textiles, power, logistics and chemicals.
The approval came during the 137th state-level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by state chief secretary Manoj Ahuja.
MAS India Clothing Private Limited plans to invest ₹8.85 billion (~$102.84 million) in Khurda for a textile processing mill, creating 1,700 jobs. Greenwave Circularity will build a ₹6.5023-billion (~$75.56-million) recycling facility in Khurda.
Other projects include Iron Triangle’s battery storage system in Balangir and two major logistics projects worth ₹4.362 billion (~$50.68 million), according to media reports from the state.
