DHL Express has announced a major expansion of its operations at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, consolidating its footprint to over 130,000 square feet. The expansion includes a new, purpose-built service centre within the AISATS Bengaluru Logistics Park.
This strategic move aims to support rising shipment volumes from both small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large enterprises across Southern India, fuelled by the region’s sustained economic growth and increasing participation in global trade, according to an official release from DHL Express.
The new 17,900 sq. ft. service centre is equipped with advanced material handling systems to streamline and accelerate shipment processing. It features automation technologies such as telescopic conveyors, wheel sorters, and a logic-based conveyor sequence tailored to both import and export operations. These upgrades are expected to significantly reduce processing times and boost throughput capacity, enabling the facility to efficiently manage current volumes and scale for future growth.

The facility features dedicated drive-in bays for pick-up and delivery vehicles, designed to optimise shipment handling and minimise manual effort, thereby reducing turnaround times. DHL Express’s total investment in this expansion project amounts to €3.43 million, reflecting the organisation’s confidence in the region’s growth potential and its dedication to enhancing international trade linkages, the release added.
