Abu Dhabi Customs recorded a significant increase in digital customs transactions in 2025, underscoring the emirate’s accelerating shift toward smart government services and paperless trade processes.
Officials said the growth was driven by expanded adoption of online clearance systems, automated risk assessment tools and integrated digital platforms that enable importers and exporters to complete procedures remotely. The rise in e-transactions reflects stronger engagement from businesses leveraging streamlined digital services to reduce processing times and operational costs.
Abu Dhabi Customs attributed the surge to continued investments in advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence-enabled inspection systems and data analytics tools designed to enhance compliance monitoring and trade facilitation. The authority also highlighted improved interoperability with other government entities and logistics stakeholders, allowing faster approvals and real-time information exchange.
The expansion of digital services aligns with Abu Dhabi’s broader economic diversification strategy and its ambition to strengthen its position as a regional logistics and trade hub. By reducing paperwork and manual intervention, the authority aims to enhance efficiency, transparency and customer satisfaction across the supply chain.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to further digital transformation initiatives, including expanding smart inspection solutions and enhancing cybersecurity frameworks, to support growing trade volumes and ensure seamless customs operations in the years ahead.
