Saudi Arabia has launched a new suite of integrated ship services across its eastern region ports, aiming to enhance efficiency, streamline operations, and strengthen its position as a key maritime hub.

The initiative brings together multiple port and vessel-related services under a unified framework, enabling faster turnaround times and improved coordination for ships calling at eastern ports. The services are expected to cover areas such as vessel clearance, bunkering, maintenance support, and crew handling.

Officials said the move is part of broader efforts to modernise port infrastructure and align with global best practices in maritime logistics. By integrating services, authorities aim to reduce administrative delays and improve the overall ease of doing business for shipping lines and port users.

The eastern region ports, strategically located along major global shipping routes, play a vital role in handling energy exports and general cargo. Enhancing service delivery in these ports is expected to support growing trade volumes and attract more international traffic.

Industry stakeholders believe the rollout will help improve operational efficiency, lower costs, and boost competitiveness, particularly at a time when global shipping is facing disruptions and rising logistical complexities.

The initiative also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s long-term vision to expand its logistics sector, diversify the economy, and strengthen its role in global maritime trade.
