Ports across India are likely to extend export relief measures until the end of April as persistent shipping delays continue to disrupt cargo movement and logistics planning.
According to industry sources, congestion at transshipment hubs, vessel schedule disruptions, and longer transit times have affected exporters’ ability to meet shipment deadlines. In response, port authorities are considering prolonging relief measures such as waiver of certain charges, relaxed timelines, and priority handling for export cargo.
Exporters, particularly in sectors like engineering goods, textiles, and perishables, have faced mounting challenges due to unpredictable vessel availability and rerouting of ships. The extended relief is expected to ease financial pressure and help maintain shipment flows during the disruption.
