The first outward rake from the Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal (GCT) developed by the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) at New Sardhana station on the Dedicated Freight Corridor was successfully dispatched on April 15, 2026, marking a significant milestone in regional freight operations.

The rake, bound for Mundra Port, signals the operationalisation of a key multimodal logistics hub, enabling seamless integration between rail networks and port-led supply chains. This development is expected to enhance cargo movement efficiency and strengthen connectivity across critical trade corridors.

The milestone underscores the growing role of Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals in improving first- and last-mile connectivity, reducing transit time, and boosting overall logistics performance. With DFCCIL expanding its network of multimodal terminals, freight transportation is becoming more streamlined, reliable, and scalable, in line with the Government of India’s PM Gati Shakti vision.
