Evergreen Marine has launched a dedicated Peru–North Chile coastal shipping service as part of its strategy to strengthen regional connectivity and expand its presence across the Latin American trade network.
The new service is designed to provide more direct and reliable cargo links between major ports in Peru and northern Chile, supporting growing demand for containerised trade, mining-related cargo, agricultural exports, and regional distribution services along the west coast of South America.
According to the carrier, the route will offer improved transit times, enhanced schedule reliability, and better connectivity to Evergreen’s wider global shipping network. The service is expected to support exporters and importers handling commodities, refrigerated cargo, consumer goods, and industrial shipments moving within the region and to international markets.
Industry analysts said regional coastal shipping services are gaining importance as carriers seek to improve intra-Latin America logistics connectivity while reducing dependency on long transshipment routes. Rising trade volumes and infrastructure investments at ports across Peru and Chile are also driving demand for more frequent feeder and short-sea shipping solutions.
The launch comes amid continued expansion efforts by major container lines across Latin America, where carriers are introducing new services and network adjustments to capture growing cargo demand and improve operational flexibility.
Evergreen Marine said the Peru–North Chile coastal service forms part of its broader commitment to enhancing service coverage, supporting regional trade growth, and strengthening supply chain efficiency for customers across South America.
