National Highways Authority of India has initiated detailed project report (DPR) work for the proposed six-lane upgradation of the NH-52 stretch connecting Indore and the Maharashtra border, aiming to improve highway capacity and strengthen regional connectivity.

The project is expected to ease traffic congestion, enhance freight movement, and support faster transportation between Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The corridor serves as an important route for commercial vehicles and industrial cargo moving across central and western India.

Officials said the DPR will assess technical feasibility, land requirements, traffic projections, and project costs before the highway expansion moves into the execution phase. Once completed, the upgraded NH-52 corridor is expected to improve logistics efficiency, reduce travel time, and support economic activity along the route.
