Liège Airport is planning a major cargo infrastructure expansion with the development of a new first-line warehouse targeted for launch by 2028, aimed at strengthening its position as a leading European air freight hub.
The planned facility is expected to improve cargo handling efficiency, streamline customs and inspection processes and support rising air freight volumes moving through the airport’s logistics network.
Airport authorities said the warehouse project will enhance operational capacity for express shipments, e-commerce cargo, pharmaceuticals and temperature-sensitive freight while reducing processing times for import and export cargo.
The expansion forms part of Liège Airport’s broader long-term strategy to modernise infrastructure, attract additional cargo operators and support growing demand in the European air logistics sector.
