Bangladesh and Netherlands have agreed to strengthen cooperation in green maritime transport and logistics, focusing on sustainable port development, inland waterway connectivity and environmentally friendly shipping solutions. The collaboration aims to support cleaner trade and transport infrastructure while enhancing bilateral economic and maritime relations.
Officials from both countries discussed opportunities in green port technologies, low-emission shipping practices, smart logistics systems and climate-resilient maritime infrastructure. The partnership is also expected to encourage knowledge sharing, investment and technical collaboration in areas such as vessel efficiency, renewable energy integration and sustainable cargo handling operations.
Industry stakeholders said the initiative could help improve regional trade connectivity and accelerate the adoption of greener logistics practices in South Asia. The cooperation aligns with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions from the maritime sector and promote sustainable supply chain development.
