The Multi Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) operated by Container Corporation of India Ltd. in Visakhapatnam has achieved a significant milestone with the handling of its first rice rake, further reinforcing its position as an integrated logistics hub offering end-to-end supply chain solutions.
The inaugural consignment comprised 42 BCN wagons carrying nearly 2,700 metric tonnes of rice from Raipur. The cargo was received at the facility and efficiently unloaded and stored in the rail-side warehouse located within the MMLP premises.
The development marks a step forward in enhancing multimodal connectivity between India’s hinterland and Visakhapatnam, enabling smoother cargo movement for both domestic distribution and export-oriented supply chains. The facility is designed to provide seamless logistics support through a single-window platform, integrating multiple transportation and value-added services.
MMLP Visakhapatnam is equipped with rail-side warehousing, customs facilitation, packaging services, cargo handling infrastructure, and last-mile connectivity to the port, creating a comprehensive logistics ecosystem for a wide range of cargo segments.
The successful handling of the first rice rake highlights CONCOR’s expanding role in promoting efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective logistics solutions. The company said the operation reflects its commitment to strengthening logistics infrastructure and improving cargo connectivity across the country through multimodal transport solutions.
