Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation (Yang Ming) and PSA International (PSA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly accelerate the adoption of low-carbon solutions across the maritime value chain, strengthening their commitment to end-to-end supply chain decarbonisation.
The agreement was signed by Ivan Chiang, Chief Logistics Officer & Senior Vice President of Yang Ming, and Eddy Ng, Group Head of Operations, Technology and Sustainability at PSA International. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Kevin Lee, President of Yang Ming, and Ong Kim Pong, Group CEO of PSA International, marking a significant milestone in the companies’ sustainability partnership.
Under the MoU, Yang Ming and PSA will collaborate on developing practical decarbonisation solutions for the global shipping and logistics industry. The partnership will focus on emissions measurement and verification, while also advancing a digital Book-and-Claim framework and a joint maritime-land based inset token package. These initiatives are designed to provide cargo owners and supply chain stakeholders with a transparent and accountable pathway to reduce carbon emissions across both sea and land transport.
Speaking on the partnership, Ong Kim Pong, Group CEO of PSA International, said the maritime industry must work collectively to address the challenges of climate change.

The collaboration reflects the growing industry focus on achieving net-zero emissions by integrating digital technologies with verified carbon reduction mechanisms. By combining Yang Ming’s global shipping network with PSA’s port and logistics expertise, the two companies aim to help customers meet their environmental, social and governance (ESG) objectives while supporting the broader transition to a low-carbon global trade ecosystem.
The MoU underscores the increasing importance of collaboration between shipping lines and port operators in delivering scalable and credible decarbonisation solutions as the maritime sector moves towards meeting international climate targets.
