Kamarajar Port has achieved a new milestone in container handling, recording its highest-ever monthly container throughput of 67,561 TEUs in July 2026, surpassing its previous record of 66,470 TEUs achieved in May 2026.
The record-breaking performance underscores the port’s continued focus on enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening its position as a key gateway for India’s containerized trade.
In another significant achievement, Kamarajar Port also registered its best-ever rail cargo performance during the month. A total of 31 container rakes were handled through the KPL Railway Siding within the port, transporting 2,650 container units, equivalent to 4,600 TEUs.
The twin milestones highlight the port’s growing capability in multimodal logistics, with seamless integration of rail and port operations contributing to faster cargo evacuation and improved supply chain efficiency.
Kamarajar Port stated that these achievements reflect its ongoing commitment to operational excellence, infrastructure optimization, and supporting the increasing demand of India’s maritime and logistics sector. The record performance further reinforces the port’s role in facilitating efficient cargo movement while strengthening the country’s trade and logistics ecosystem.
