The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) generated ₱16.34 billion in revenue during the first half of 2026, an increase of 11.31% from ₱14.68 billion in the same period last year. The figure also exceeded the authority’s first-half target by 7.61%, or ₱1.16 billion.
The revenue growth was supported by higher cargo volumes, container traffic and cruise ship calls across PPA-managed ports. Cargo throughput rose 3.08% to 154.03 million tonnes, while container traffic increased 2.65% to 4.30 million TEUs.
Cruise activity also strengthened, with PPA ports recording 70 cruise ship calls, up 4.48% year on year, bringing 165,340 cruise passengers during the January-June period. Passenger movements across the port network reached 45.69 million.
PPA General Manager Jay Daniel Santiago attributed the performance to improvements in operational efficiency, infrastructure modernisation, revenue optimisation and expanded port capacity. The authority said the stronger performance will support further investment in modernising the country’s port infrastructure.
