Hutchison Ports Sohar welcomed the maiden call of M/V Marsa Virgo at Sohar Port, marking another step in strengthening the port’s connectivity with major trade destinations across the Indian Subcontinent and the Red Sea region.

The vessel arrived at Sohar as part of the Malabar Gulf Red Sea (MGR) Service, a liner service connecting key ports across the Indian Subcontinent, the Gulf and the Red Sea.

The introduction of the service is expected to enhance trade links for exporters and importers by providing improved connectivity between Sohar and important regional and international markets.

The maiden call further reinforces Sohar’s position as a strategic gateway and logistics hub, supporting the movement of cargo between the Gulf, Indian Subcontinent and Red Sea markets.

Hutchison Ports Sohar said the new service contributes to the port’s growing role in facilitating regional trade and expanding shipping connectivity, while offering customers access to a wider network of ports and trade routes.
