    The Madras Branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS Madras) hosted its AGM 2026 along with a panel discussion at the Presidency Club, Chennai, bringing together maritime professionals for an evening of industry dialogue and fellowship.

    The panel discussion, titled “Charter Parties in an Era of War Risk, Sanctions and Carbon Cost,” examined the evolving commercial, contractual and operational challenges facing the global maritime and shipping industry.

    Distinguished industry professionals shared their perspectives on the growing complexities surrounding charter parties amid geopolitical risks, sanctions and rising carbon-related costs.

    ICS Madras expressed its gratitude to the moderator, panelists, members, sponsors, guests and industry stakeholders for their participation and support. The event also highlighted the importance of continued knowledge-sharing, professional engagement and collaboration within the maritime community.

    The evening concluded with an informal fellowship, reinforcing the role of collective industry dialogue in addressing the challenges of an evolving maritime landscape.
