The India-US Trade Facilitation Portal has recorded around 3,500 registrations within a few months of its launch, highlighting growing interest in the digital platform designed to connect Indian exporters with US-based buyers.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said the initiative could create new opportunities for Indian businesses, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and first-time exporters seeking to enter the US market.
In a post on X, Goyal described the portal as a landmark initiative connecting businesses in India and the United States. He said the encouraging response reflected its potential to facilitate partnerships, help exporters explore new markets and expand their global reach.
The portal is a digital business-to-business (B2B) marketplace launched by the Consulate General of India in New York, in collaboration with other Indian consulates in the US and the Embassy of India in Washington, DC.
Designed to promote trade between the two countries, the platform enables Indian exporters to showcase their products and capabilities, while allowing American buyers to discover Indian products and identify potential business partners across sectors.
The portal offers category-wise product listings, search facilities and personalised dashboards. These features help businesses monitor trade activity, track business leads, assess sales performance and review user engagement.
It also hosts virtual exhibitions and curated product showcases, enabling exporters to promote their offerings, connect with prospective buyers and identify sector-specific business opportunities.
By providing a common digital platform for product discovery and business networking, the initiative aims to simplify cross-border interactions and make international markets more accessible to Indian companies.
The growing number of registrations signals the portal’s potential to widen participation in India-US trade, particularly among smaller enterprises and new exporters looking to establish a presence in the American market.
