Chennai Container Terminal Private Limited (CCTPL), operated by DP World at Chennai Port, has achieved its highest monthly container throughput in a decade, handling a record 93,804 TEUs across 36 vessels in October 2026.

The latest achievement surpasses the terminal’s previous monthly record of 89,743 TEUs, registered in September 2026, marking another consecutive month of record-breaking performance.

The milestone highlights CCTPL’s growing operational capabilities and the strengthening of Chennai Port’s maritime ecosystem. It also reflects the collaborative efforts of DP World, Chennai Port Authority and other port stakeholders in ensuring efficient cargo handling and seamless movement of trade.

The achievement further underscores Chennai Port Authority’s continued focus on trade facilitation, improved connectivity and business development through various initiatives aimed at attracting additional cargo and meeting evolving trade requirements.

The record performance reinforces Chennai Port’s position as a key container gateway for India’s maritime trade, while highlighting DP World’s contribution to enhancing terminal efficiency and strengthening India’s connectivity with global markets.
