Greece’s Cape Shipping has beefed up its tanker orderbook with a pair of LR2 newbuilds in China.

Brokers report that the Andrianopoulos family’s bulker and boxship owner has contracted CSSC Tianjin Shipbuilding, which is managed by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., to deliver the 115,000 dwt scrubber-fitted duo in 2026.

The Athens-based Cape Shipping has been linked to several tanker newbuilding projects in China since late last year, first with LR2s and later with suezmaxes at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and a brace of 74,000 dwt LR1 product carriers at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding in Jiangsu.
