Athanasios Kossidas-led Aerio Shipmanagement is tied to its fourth MR purchase in three months.
Over the weekend, broking sources reported the active owner to the acquisition of the 2014-built Tenacity, built at Guangzhou CSSC Longxue Shipbuilding, a rare Chinese-built sale, as most sales in this age group are built in South Korea. The ship was sold by Sea Pioneer, a fellow Greek player it knows well.
Earlier this summer, it added a 2010 MR called Dignity from the same yard and same owner for just under $30m. Aerio also added two 2012-built MR Tankers from Scorpio.
Aerio is also playing with its older ships. About a week ago, the outfit was reported selling the 2007-built, 47,400 dwt Fos Power for $24m, securing the Greek owner a fat profit as the ship was added for just under $10m in 2021. In June, the 46,000 dwt Fos Energy was sold for $20.50m to Seacon. With this deal, Aerio more than doubled its money on the ship as this one was purchased for $9.3m in 2021.
