Cyprus-based bulker and boxship owner Castor Maritime has snapped up its second ship in less than a month with the purchase of a modern kamsarmax.
The Nasdaq-listed firm said it has struck a $29.95m deal with an unaffiliated third party for an unnamed 2020-built bulker, which will be financed with cash on hand.
The ship should deliver in October, the Petros Panagiotidis-led company said, without disclosing further details.
Castor will, following the delivery, own 13 vessels, of which four kamsarmaxes. Earlier in September, the company acquired a 2009-built 1,850 teu boxship for $16.49m.
