Achilles, a global leader in supplier and supply chain risk management and assurance, has completed its acquisition of Cm3, a leading Australian provider of contractor management and compliance software, from the Blackwoods Group, part of Wesfarmers’ Bunnings division.

The acquisition, which follows regulatory approval from Australia’s Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB), marks a significant milestone in Achilles’ international expansion strategy, strengthening its presence in Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

For more than 18 years, Cm3 has supported organisations across Australia and New Zealand in managing contractor compliance, workplace health and safety, and operational risks. Its established technology platform and specialist assessment services complement Achilles’ global expertise in supplier intelligence, contractor assurance, compliance and risk management.

The combined businesses now support more than 1,000 buying organisations and hundreds of thousands of suppliers and contractors worldwide. The acquisition is expected to create opportunities to expand service offerings, enhance data and insights, and accelerate technological innovation.

A key focus will be the development of Smart Achilles AI capabilities to simplify processes, reduce administrative workloads and strengthen risk management for customers.

Sebastien Roussotte, CEO of Achilles, said the acquisition was an important step in bringing together complementary expertise, technology and global reach to deliver greater value to customers.

He added that Cm3’s strong customer relationships and established reputation in contractor management and workplace safety would provide a solid foundation for further growth in the Australian market.

Cm3 will continue operating with its existing teams, technology platform and services, ensuring continuity for customers and business partners. As part of Achilles, the company will gain access to greater scale, expertise and investment to further enhance its capabilities and service offerings.

Achilles’ international expansion strategy is supported by its majority shareholder, Bridgepoint, which partnered with the company in 2021.

Matt Legg, Partner at Bridgepoint, said the acquisition represented another important milestone in expanding Achilles’ global scale, strengthening its Asia-Pacific presence and reinforcing its position as a leading provider of supply chain risk management solutions.
