AD Ports Group has launched a dedicated defence manufacturing free zone aimed at strengthening industrial capabilities and supporting the growth of the UAE’s defence and advanced manufacturing sectors.

The new free zone is designed to attract local and international defence companies by offering integrated infrastructure, logistics connectivity, and specialised industrial facilities. The initiative is expected to support manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, and technology development activities linked to defence and security industries.

AD Ports Group said the project aligns with the UAE’s broader economic diversification strategy and efforts to expand high-value industrial investments. The zone will also leverage the company’s port, logistics, and trade ecosystem to facilitate efficient supply chain operations and global market access for defence manufacturers.

Industry observers believe the development could position the UAE as a regional hub for defence production and industrial innovation while creating opportunities for strategic partnerships, technology transfer, and long-term investment in the sector.
