Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has established a new subsidiary in Oman as part of its strategy to expand international operations and strengthen its position as a global integrated transport operator.
The company incorporated Indian Ocean Gateway Terminal in Oman on October 21, 2026, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Adani International Ports Holdings Pte Ltd. The new entity will support the group’s offshore operations in the country.
Indian Ocean Gateway Terminal has a share capital of OMR 500,000, comprising 100 shares valued at OMR 5,000 each. Adani International Ports Holdings holds 100% of the shares, making the entity a step-down subsidiary of APSEZ.
The move aligns with APSEZ’s broader strategy to build a geographically diversified business and expand its international footprint across key markets. The company operates across ports, logistics, marine services and integrated transport, with overseas operations forming an increasingly important part of its business.
Oman’s location along major Indian Ocean shipping routes makes it an important market for regional maritime trade and logistics. Establishing a local corporate entity provides APSEZ with a platform to conduct offshore operations in the country, although specific projects, terminal assets or operational timelines associated with the new subsidiary have not been disclosed.
The development comes as APSEZ continues to expand its international business alongside its established Indian port network. The company is seeking to strengthen its integrated transport capabilities and broaden its presence in global trade corridors.
The incorporation of the Oman subsidiary marks another step in APSEZ’s international expansion, with further details on its planned activities expected to clarify the entity’s operational role.
