Dighi Port in Maharashtra is set to become a major automobile export gateway with Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) partnering with the Motherson Group to develop a dedicated auto logistics hub capable of handling 200,000 cars per year.
The strategic collaboration aims to redefine India’s automotive logistics ecosystem by leveraging APSEZ’s integrated port and infrastructure capabilities along with Motherson’s deep expertise in automotive solutions. The upcoming Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) terminal is expected to significantly boost trade, improve operational efficiency, and support the seamless movement of vehicles across domestic and international markets.
Located in the heart of the Mumbai–Pune automotive belt, Dighi Port is positioned to capitalize on proximity to leading automakers, offering a world-class export and import gateway. The project aligns with the Government of India’s Make in India vision, enabling faster, smarter, and more sustainable global trade for the country’s thriving automobile sector.
Both partners emphasize that this initiative will strengthen supply chains, reduce logistics costs, and deliver long-term value to customers and surrounding communities. With this development, Dighi Port is set to emerge as a critical node in India’s growing auto export journey, reinforcing the nation’s position as a competitive manufacturing and logistics hub.
