    Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru C. Joseph Vijay and presented a memorandum outlining key measures aimed at accelerating the growth of the state’s apparel industry and achieving the ambitious target of USD 15 billion in apparel exports by 2030.

    The memorandum emphasized several strategic priorities, including the development of worker housing, enhanced support for MSMEs, technology upgradation, logistics infrastructure improvements, sustainable manufacturing practices, skill development initiatives, adoption of artificial intelligence, and the timely implementation of the PM MITRA Park project.

    During the meeting, both sides discussed strengthening Tamil Nadu’s position as a leading global hub for apparel manufacturing and exports. The discussions highlighted the sector’s potential to generate large-scale employment opportunities, attract investments, and contribute significantly to economic growth.

    AEPC reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Government of Tamil Nadu to enhance the competitiveness of India’s apparel industry and drive sustainable export-led growth in the sector.
