Air cargo traffic at Frankfurt Airport remained stable in February, reflecting steady demand across key international trade lanes despite ongoing volatility in global supply chains.

According to figures released by Fraport AG, the airport handled a solid volume of freight and airmail during the month, supported by resilient demand for time-sensitive shipments such as pharmaceuticals, electronics and industrial components.

Frankfurt continues to serve as one of Europe’s leading air cargo hubs, benefiting from its central location and strong connections to major manufacturing and consumer markets across the continent. The airport’s extensive network of freighter services and bellyhold capacity on passenger flights helps facilitate cargo flows between Europe, Asia and North America.

Industry observers say the steady February performance highlights the airport’s role as a key logistics gateway, even as the air freight sector navigates fluctuating demand, geopolitical uncertainties and shifting global trade patterns.

Looking ahead, Fraport AG expects Frankfurt’s cargo sector to remain supported by strong pharmaceutical exports, e-commerce shipments and high-value industrial cargo moving through the hub.
