Allcargo Group’s CSR arm, Avashya Foundation, has entered into a strategic partnership with Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), Nashik, to enhance industry-aligned skill development and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for youth, particularly from underserved and economically weaker sections of society.
The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the YCMOU campus by Dr. Govind Kathalkute, Registrar & Finance Officer, YCMOU, and Dr. Nilratan Shende, Head – CSR, Allcargo Group. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by providing market-relevant skills, recognized certifications, and improved career pathways.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nilratan Shende said the partnership reflects Allcargo Group’s belief that skill development is a key driver of social transformation and economic empowerment. He noted that the collaboration combines academic excellence with industry relevance to help young people build sustainable careers while contributing to India’s economic growth.
YCMOU Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjeev Sonawane highlighted the university’s commitment to accessible education and said the partnership would create new opportunities for underprivileged youth, project-affected persons (PAPs), tribal communities, and women. By integrating academic certification with vocational training, the initiative seeks to improve employability and facilitate entry into the formal workforce.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by senior representatives from both organizations, including Chandrakant Patil, AGM – CSR, Allcargo Group, and YCMOU officials Kailas More, Jaiwant Dhawale, and Minanath Jagade.
