The Ashdod Port Company has issued a request for proposals, encouraging entrepreneurs to join the port’s marine technology cluster.

Registration will commence in the coming weeks, and once completed, firms will be selected for the programme.

Startups who join the hub will receive professional and strategic support, as well as the opportunity to conduct proof of concept (POC) tests in a real-world operating setting at the port.

The startups will also get direct access to the port’s many sections, which include operations, logistics, engineering, energy and environment, security, cyber, safety, and sales.

The port recently established a specialised venture capital fund of up to $55 million to invest in emerging firms based in the hub.

Ashdod Port Board Chairman, Shaul Schneider, said: “The Port of Ashdod offers startup companies from all over the world a unique opportunity for a long-term business partnership with the port, along with global exposure and the creation of international collaborations.

“The port sees innovation as an important growth engine that adds value and creates groundbreaking opportunities for both the startups themselves and the port’s Innovation Division, which offers path-creating solutions that provide significant added value to the traditional port industry.”

Last month, the Ashdod Port Company published its performance results for the third quarter of 2023 and the first nine months of 2023.
