The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) has launched the Trade and Investment Promotion Strategy (TIPS) to support India’s ambitions of expanding exports and attracting higher foreign direct investment (FDI).
The initiative is designed to provide a structured framework for strengthening India’s trade and investment ecosystem, with a focus on improving market access, promoting investment opportunities and addressing barriers faced by businesses.
ASSOCHAM said TIPS is aligned with India’s broader ambition of achieving $2 trillion in exports and $200 billion in annual FDI. The strategy seeks to bring greater coordination among industry stakeholders, policymakers and other institutions involved in international trade and investment.
The programme is expected to focus on identifying emerging export markets, improving the competitiveness of Indian businesses and facilitating stronger links between Indian companies and global investors.
The initiative comes as India seeks to diversify its export destinations and product base amid changes in global supply chains and evolving trade policies. Industry bodies have increasingly called for measures that can help Indian companies integrate more deeply into global value chains.
Through TIPS, ASSOCHAM aims to support businesses in identifying new opportunities while highlighting policy and regulatory issues that may affect trade and investment flows. The initiative is also expected to contribute to efforts to strengthen India’s position as a global manufacturing, trading and investment destination.
