China continues to play a major role in global trade and air cargo, supported by its extensive manufacturing base, strong export activity and integration into international supply chains.

The country remains a key source of demand for airfreight services, particularly for time-sensitive and high-value goods such as electronics, machinery, e-commerce shipments and industrial components. Its manufacturing and export sectors continue to support cargo flows across major international trade routes.

China’s extensive network of airports, cargo terminals and logistics hubs also strengthens its position in global airfreight. Investments in cargo-handling capacity, digital logistics and transport infrastructure help connect manufacturers with overseas markets and support the movement of goods across Asia, Europe and North America.

Air cargo continues to complement ocean freight by offering faster transportation for urgent shipments and higher-value products. E-commerce growth and changing supply-chain requirements are also supporting demand for reliable airfreight capacity.

China’s influence extends beyond aviation to maritime shipping, ports and cross-border logistics. Developments in its export sector can affect freight demand, shipping capacity and trade flows across international markets.

However, the outlook for trade and air cargo remains sensitive to global economic conditions, trade policies, fuel costs and geopolitical disruptions. Sustained demand will depend on export performance and the ability of logistics providers to manage capacity and changing supply-chain requirements.
