French shipping group CMA CGM has announced a US$300 per TEU rate increase on container shipments between Oceania and the Americas, effective November 2, 2026. The adjustment will apply to cargo moving in both directions across the designated trade lanes.
For shipments originating in Oceania, the increase will cover cargo destined for the US East Coast, Canada’s East Coast, the US Gulf and Latin America. The same increase will apply to shipments moving from the US East Coast, US Gulf and Canada’s East Coast to Oceania.
The new Rate Restoration Initiative (RRI) will apply to tariff rates and service contract rates within the scope of the announcement. Covered cargo includes dry containers, refrigerated shipments, out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo and paying empty containers.
CMA CGM has not specified individual ports or an expiry date for the rate adjustments. Customers are advised to consult the carrier’s official pricing channels for applicable freight rates and additional charges.
The increase comes as shipping lines continue to adjust pricing across global trade routes in response to changing operating conditions. For shippers and freight forwarders, the revised rates could raise transportation costs on affected Oceania–Americas movements, making advance freight planning and contract reviews important ahead of the November implementation date.
The announcement forms part of CMA CGM’s ongoing rate-restoration measures across international container shipping markets.
