Cochin International Airport Ltd. has recorded its highest-ever revenue and profit for the fiscal year 2024-25, reaching ₹1,142 crore in revenue and a net profit of ₹489.84 crore.
The 31st annual general meeting endorsed the Board of Directors’ recommendation of a 50 per cent dividend for the 30,000 shareholders from across 30 countries.
“This year has been remarkable for CIAL—not only in terms of financial growth but also operational excellence and passenger satisfaction,” said the Chief Minister while addressing the AGM. For the third consecutive year, Kochi Airport handled over 10 million passengers and managed 76,068 aircraft movements during this period, he added.
The airport is implementing infrastructure development projects worth ₹1,400 crore during the current fiscal, he said. Large-scale infrastructure projects are progressing rapidly. The international terminal expansion is advancing, with 50 per cent of the new apron construction completed and terminal works underway, he added.
New facilities—including the Import Cargo Terminal, Animal Quarantine Facility, 0484 Aero Lounge, and the Taj Hotel at Kochi Airport—are expected to commence operations shortly. Additionally, CIAL has launched CIAL 2.0, a comprehensive programme for the full digitisation of airport operations.
Non-aeronautical initiatives are also progressing swiftly. A commercial zone aimed at boosting revenue and a Golf Tourism project are under development. CIAL’s renewable energy achievements, with a total installed capacity of 50 MW, have earned international recognition. Excess solar power produced during the day is supplied to the grid, while a battery energy storage system (BESS) project for night-time utilisation of solar energy is underway and expected to be commissioned within the current fiscal year.
The green hydrogen production project, implemented in collaboration with BPCL, has entered its final stage. The growth of the aviation sector will create significant opportunities across employment, tourism, hospitality, and infrastructure development, the Chief Minister added.
