Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) has commenced a new ‘Assured Transit Time’ domestic container train service connecting ICD-Whitefield (WFD), Bengaluru, with ICD-Tughlakabad, Delhi, via ICD-Tondiarpet (TNPM), Chennai.

The inaugural rake was flagged off from ICD-Whitefield on 5 September 2026 by Shri V. Somanna, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways, marking a significant step towards providing reliable and time-bound rail connectivity for domestic cargo between South India and the National Capital Region.

The event was attended by Smt. Manjula Aravind Limbavali, Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly; Shri Ajit Kumar Panda, CMD, CONCOR; Ms. G. Gayatri, IRTS, Area Head (South), CONCOR, along with senior officials from the Railways and CONCOR.

Under the new service, domestic container rakes will be dispatched from Whitefield every Saturday to ICD-Tondiarpet in Chennai. At Tondiarpet, the containers will connect with onward services from Chennai to Tughlakabad, Delhi.

CONCOR has committed a total transit time of seven days (166 hours) from Whitefield to Tughlakabad, offering customers a dependable and predictable rail transportation solution for domestic cargo.

The new service is expected to strengthen the integration of Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi’s logistics corridors, while providing an efficient rail-based alternative for businesses seeking greater certainty in cargo movement and supply-chain planning.

The initiative further reinforces CONCOR’s focus on developing time-bound, reliable and customer-oriented domestic container logistics services across key industrial and consumption centres in India.
