New rates for waste paper, newsprint and pulp shipments aim to lower import logistics costs

Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) has announced reduced rail freight rates for 40-foot import-loaded containers carrying waste paper, newsprint and pulp from gateway ports to its Multimodal Logistics Park (MMLP) at Dadri (DDR), offering savings of ₹13,000 per container.

The revised freight rates are aimed at making rail-based transportation more cost-effective for importers of these commodities, helping reduce inland logistics expenditure and improve overall supply-chain efficiency.

The initiative reinforces CONCOR’s focus on providing competitive rail freight solutions and strengthening multimodal connectivity between gateway ports and inland destinations. By offering lower transportation costs, the move is expected to enhance the attractiveness of rail-based cargo movement for businesses handling these commodities.

CONCOR has also encouraged importers to increase their cargo volumes through MMLP–Dadri, highlighting its commitment to delivering cost-efficient, sustainable and seamless logistics solutions.
