Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) has inaugurated and flagged off its Heavy-Duty Electric Vehicle (EV) Fleet for commercial operations, marking a significant step towards promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly logistics across the country.
The programme was conducted through coordinated arrangements at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, and DPE, Tiruvottiyur, Chennai, with seamless live audio-visual connectivity between both locations.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Shri U. Subba Rao, General Manager, Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai; Shri Senthil Kumar, Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM), Southern Railway; Shri N. Sitaram Prasad, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer (PCME), ICF; Shri Samuel Praveen Kumar, Director (Marketing & Corporate Planning), CWC; and Shri J. Navukkarasu, Regional Manager, CWC Regional Office, Chennai.
The flag-off ceremony was also joined virtually by Shri Santosh Sinha, Managing Director, CWC, and Smt. Sangeeta Ramrakhyani, Director (HR), CWC, along with other senior officials of the Corporation.
The launch of the heavy-duty EV fleet reflects CWC’s continued commitment to reducing carbon emissions and adopting sustainable transportation solutions in the logistics sector. The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s vision of green mobility and reinforces CWC’s efforts to modernize its logistics operations while contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
