Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, has been honoured with the prestigious Maritime Excellence Achievers Awards in the categories of “Driving Maritime Innovation” and “Port Sustainability Pioneer” at the ongoing India Maritime Week 2025, held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.

The awards were presented by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, in the presence of Shri Shantanu Thakur, Minister of State (PSW).

These accolades recognise DPA’s sustained efforts in technological advancement, port modernisation, and sustainability. Under the leadership of Chairman Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, the port has introduced several pioneering initiatives, including India’s first megawatt-scale Green Hydrogen Plant, electric green tugs, hydrogen fuel cell buses, and the development of a smart, fully mechanised port ecosystem — all aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the National Green Hydrogen Mission.

Expressing gratitude, Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh thanked stakeholders, port users, trade unions, employees, and the Shramiks for their collective contribution. He noted that the recognition reflects the teamwork and dedication driving DPA’s transformation into a ‘Port of the Future’ and a key enabler of India’s maritime growth.
