India’s festive food exports are witnessing increased overseas demand ahead of Diwali, with global markets showing stronger interest in traditional Indian sweets, snacks and other festive food products, according to the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI).

The rise in demand comes as Indian communities and consumers abroad prepare for the Diwali festive season, creating additional opportunities for exporters of food and related products.

Indian festive foods, including traditional sweets, savouries, snacks and other packaged food products, are gaining visibility across international markets. Exporters are responding to seasonal demand by increasing supplies and expanding their reach in overseas markets.

The festive season is also providing an opportunity for Indian food companies to showcase regional products and traditional flavours to a wider international consumer base.

TPCI has highlighted the growing export potential associated with India’s festive food segment, as changing consumer preferences and the global popularity of Indian cuisine support demand for Indian food products.

The seasonal increase comes at a time when Indian exporters are seeking to expand their presence across global markets and diversify the country’s food export basket.

With Diwali approaching, the stronger demand for festive foods is expected to provide a boost to exporters and reinforce the international market potential of India’s traditional food products.
