Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla has once again created history by surpassing its own national record for the highest-ever single-day cargo handling among India’s Major Ports.

On 26 July 2026, DPA handled an unprecedented 7,83,816 metric tonnes (MT) of cargo in just 24 hours, eclipsing its previous national record of 7,78,570 MT, achieved on 17 June 2026. The latest milestone further reinforces DPA Kandla’s position as one of India’s highest-performing ports and a key driver of the nation’s maritime trade.

Adding to the historic achievement, the Offshore Oil Terminal (OOT), Vadinar also established a new 24-hour handling record by processing 5,09,101 MT of liquid cargo, surpassing its earlier record of 5,07,397 MT set on 17 June 2026.

The record-breaking liquid cargo handling at Vadinar comprised:

    2,55,557 MT of Crude Oil
40,534 MT of Petroleum, Oil & Lubricants (POL)
2,13,010 MT of Liquid Petroleum Products (LPO)

The twin milestones highlight DPA Kandla’s robust infrastructure, operational efficiency, and the seamless coordination among all stakeholders involved in port operations. The achievements also underscore the port’s growing capability to handle increasing cargo volumes while maintaining high standards of productivity and service.

Congratulating the port community on the landmark accomplishment, Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman, Deendayal Port Authority, commended the collective efforts of all stakeholders who contributed to the record-breaking performance.

He extended his appreciation to port users, exporters, importers, shipping lines, vessel agents, stevedores, Customs House Agents, terminal operators, trade associations, truck drivers, DPA officials, employees, Shramiks, and every member of the port fraternity for their unwavering commitment and support.

The latest achievement reflects the dedication, teamwork, and operational excellence of Team DPA and further strengthens the port’s leadership among India’s Major Ports. With consecutive national records in little over a month, DPA Kandla continues to set new benchmarks in cargo handling efficiency, supporting India’s expanding trade and logistics ecosystem while contributing significantly to the country’s maritime growth ambitions.
