Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) Kandla marked a strong presence at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (Kutch & Saurashtra) held at Rajkot, underscoring its commitment to sustainable development and maritime growth.
During the conference, Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman, DPA Kandla, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green-Kutch NextGen Pvt. Ltd. to promote community participation in the Green Hydrogen ecosystem at Kandla under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The collaboration aims to empower MSMEs, create employment opportunities for youth, and accelerate decarbonisation efforts in the region.
Under the MoU, DPA Kandla will develop the proposed “Kutch Green Hydrogen Park” with plug-and-play infrastructure, enabling industry partners to set up modular green hydrogen production and storage facilities. The initiative is aligned with India’s Net Zero Vision and is expected to position Kandla as a major hub for green hydrogen development.
In addition, Shri Sushil Kumar Singh delivered a special address during the session titled “Gujarat as an Emerging Shipbuilding Hub.” In his address, the Chairman highlighted Gujarat’s growing strengths in shipbuilding, robust maritime infrastructure, and its pivotal role in enhancing India’s global maritime competitiveness. He emphasized the state’s strategic coastline, port-led development model, and expanding industrial ecosystem as key drivers of growth in the shipbuilding and maritime sectors.
DPA Kandla’s participation at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference reaffirmed its role in advancing green energy initiatives and strengthening India’s maritime and shipbuilding capabilities through sustainable and future-ready infrastructure.
