Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), reviewed the progress of the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Telangana during a site visit to the project. He was accompanied by Shri Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & Managing Director of NICDC, along with senior officials from NICDC, the Government of Telangana, Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC), the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), and project teams.
The Zaheerabad Industrial Area, spread across approximately 3,245 acres in Sangareddy district, is being developed under the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor with an approved project cost of ₹2,361 crore.
During the review meeting, officials assessed the status of land acquisition, mobilisation of the EPC contractor, implementation timelines, trunk infrastructure development, and coordination among various stakeholders. The project teams were directed to accelerate on-ground execution while ensuring adherence to prescribed quality and safety standards.
Strategically located along National Highway-65, the industrial area is expected to emerge as a major manufacturing and investment destination. The project is projected to attract investments of around ₹10,000 crore and generate approximately 1.74 lakh employment opportunities.
The industrial area is planned to support a wide range of manufacturing sectors, including automobiles, machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, transport equipment, and food processing, further strengthening Telangana’s industrial ecosystem and contributing to the development of the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor.
