The government has launched a new E-commerce Export Finance Initiative aimed at supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in expanding their international sales. The program is designed to provide financial backing and ease access to credit for MSMEs looking to sell products on global e-commerce platforms.

Officials highlighted that the initiative will help MSMEs overcome traditional barriers such as limited working capital, high logistics costs, and currency-related risks, enabling them to compete effectively in overseas markets. Special attention will be given to streamlining documentation and offering competitive interest rates for export-related transactions.

Industry experts said the move could significantly boost India’s export footprint by empowering smaller businesses to leverage digital platforms, reach global customers, and scale operations. The initiative also aligns with broader government efforts to strengthen the MSME sector and promote export-led growth in the economy.

Early beneficiaries include small-scale manufacturers and artisans who plan to use the program to expand their presence on international e-commerce portals, particularly in sectors like textiles, handicrafts, and specialty foods.

This initiative is expected to enhance competitiveness, create jobs, and strengthen India’s position in the global digital trade landscape.
