Emirates SkyCargo has upgraded its road vehicle fleet with 40 new trucks as part of efforts to reduce the emissions created by its operations.
The MAN trucks have been added in co-operation with Allied Transport Company and conform to Euro 6 standards for emissions output.
The company said that by replacing 40 trucks in its fleet with Euro 6 models, it will reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions generated by trucking by an estimated 17%.
Emirates’ truck fleet moves more than 1,000 tonnes of cargo every day and serves as a conveyor between Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) and Dubai International Airport (DXB), traversing the 77 KM bonded corridor up to six times per day, per truck.
Badr Abbas, divisional senior vice president, Emirates SkyCargo, said: “The addition of the Euro 6 trucks to our fleet is an important evolution in our commitment to more sustainable operations, and to investing in future-ready technology that will fuel our next era of growth.

Emirates added that the trucks are also equipped with several safety and security features, such as driver-assist, reverse cameras and an AI-powered Driver Monitoring System, which triggers a real-time safety alert when it detects driver distraction or fatigue.
”Combined with GPS and cloud tracking, Emirates SkyCargo will have access to live fleet monitoring, video transmission and real-time insights for more informed data-driven decision making,” the airline added.
