Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday laid the foundation stone of the XSIO Industrial and Logistics Park in the Vadgaon area along the Samruddhi Mahamarg, marking a major push to the state’s logistics and industrial infrastructure.
Speaking at the ceremony, CM Fadnavis announced that the state government is developing a dedicated access road from the Samruddhi Highway to the upcoming Vadhavan Port — one of the world’s leading deep-sea ports. “The map has already been approved. Once this connectivity is established, logistics parks and industries across the region will benefit immensely,” he said.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Maharashtra’s new logistics policy is designed to reduce logistics costs by improving connectivity and promoting integrated infrastructure. He expressed confidence that Nagpur, already recognized as the geographical zero mile of India, is rapidly advancing toward becoming the country’s premier logistics hub.
During the event, an MoU worth ₹3,000 crore was signed between XSIO Industries, Blackstone Company, and the Industries Department for investments across Maharashtra. This builds on an earlier ₹5,000-crore MoU, taking XSIO’s total committed investment in the state to ₹8,000 crore.
The XSIO Industrial and Logistics Park, developed along the Samruddhi Mahamarg, represents a significant milestone for the region. The company has already invested ₹700 crore in establishing a world-class logistics facility. The second phase — spread across 105 acres with an investment of ₹1,100 crore — had its foundation stone laid today. Together, both phases are expected to generate nearly 10,000 jobs.
Fadnavis added that work is also underway to connect the Igatpuri section of the Samruddhi Highway directly to Vadhavan Port, further strengthening industrial movement. He also underlined the government’s efforts to integrate logistics and blockchain technologies to bring transformative improvements to the industrial sector.
The event was attended by MLA Sameer Meghe, Dr. Ashish Deshmukh, Industries Department Secretary Dr. P. Anbalgam, XSIO Managing Director Ashish Agarwal, and Blackstone’s Tuhin Parekh, among others.
XSIO and Blackstone representatives expressed confidence in Maharashtra’s policy environment and reaffirmed their commitment to long-term investment in the state.
