Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) participated in the National Symposium on Customs Reforms 2026 held on 26 February 2026 in New Delhi.

Dr. Ajay Sahai, Director General & CEO, FIEO, was among the key panelists at the symposium, contributing to discussions on SWIFT 2.0 and the Customs Information System (CIS). Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sahai underscored the importance of technological advancements such as SWIFT 2.0 and CIS as foundational pillars for businesses, enhancing predictability, transparency, and efficiency in export-import processes.

He urged officials of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) to work towards integrating all export-import procedures under a single unified portal to streamline trade facilitation. Dr. Sahai also proposed that FIEO members be included in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for beta testing of the CIS platform, enabling industry stakeholders to provide constructive feedback before its formal rollout.

Other FIEO representatives who actively participated in various sessions at the symposium included Mr. P. T. Srinath, Director (Policy); Ms. Anubha Chowrasia, Assistant Director (Policy); and Mr. Arnab Chakraborty from FIEO (Northern Region).

The symposium served as a significant platform for dialogue between policymakers and industry representatives, reinforcing the shared commitment to modernizing India’s customs ecosystem and strengthening ease of doing business.
