The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) continued its outreach to strengthen international trade partnerships as its Regional Chairman (Eastern Region), Mr Abhishek Poddar, met officials from the Australian Consulate-General in Kolkata.

Mr Poddar held discussions with Mr Kevin Goh, Deputy Consul General, and Ms Anagha, Senior Economic Research Officer, focusing on expanding trade engagement between Eastern India and Australia. The interaction covered ways to enhance market access, deepen exporter-to-exporter collaboration, and leverage institutional support to promote sustainable trade growth.

Key sectors of mutual interest and emerging trade opportunities were also discussed, with both sides underscoring the importance of closer cooperation to unlock new avenues for bilateral trade and investment. The meeting reflected a shared commitment to strengthening India–Australia economic ties, particularly by enabling exporters from Eastern India to better access the Australian market.
